10-21-2019 ACB Newsletter

Dear Coyote Band members and parents,

We had our best performance of the year at our UIL Contest this past Saturday. To be honest, we felt as a staff that it was even better than our performance at the State Marching Contest last year! We are so proud of the students and how they performed. This marks a DECADE of Division 1 ratings in marching band! The judges were very complimentary, and also gave us some tips to improve upon for the future. We will be transitioning to concert season over the next couple of weeks, but also keeping up our  marching band chops.

This Friday we’ll be traveling to Celina for football. The itinerary is on page 2.

o Rehearsal Schedule for Marching band:
o Morning Rehearsal this week on ONLY WEDNESDAY AND THURSDAY!
o Morning Rehearsal THURSDAY 10/31!
o Morning Rehearsal FRIDAY 11/8!

o Bands will have a different sectional schedule for the concert bands. Basically kids are going to have 2 rehearsals a week moving forward through concert season.

o Tamale fundraiser will run now – November 4th! Delivery is before Thanksgiving break. Any questions can be directed to  melinda.ponce@annaisd.org. Flyers are going home today. This was a great fundraiser for our booster club last year, and we hope it will be again!
o Chocolate Bar Fundraiser coming up November 4th through 15th!
o PRIVATE LESSONS! If your student is able, please sign up directly with the teachers. Emails have gone out with the information. You can set up the lessons with the teacher for your student’s instrument according to how your schedule best lines up.
o Disney –Please note, the October payment is now past due. We have hotels locked in, airlines locked in, and are having to pay deposits, so please remember the refund agreement as well.
o Please be mindful of the band fees that are needing to be paid. We’re fine with payment plans however we need to set them up, but please keep it on your radar.
